LED street banners are a sophisticated and simple tool for building a neighborhood’s identity and welcoming visitors to the area. Adding lighting to the banners creates a unique sense of place and increases a neighborhood’s exposure.

Having piloted a number of lighting projects in Downtown Brooklyn and Long Island City, Totem through its in-house design studio FANTÁSTICA, worked with the Long Island City Partnership on a temporary activation along Skillman Avenue to knit together key crossing points at 49th Avenue and Queens Boulevard.

Inspired by the graffiti tags that once adorned nearby 5 Pointz, our design nods to the legacy of the area as a visual and street art destination, while helping to enhances the overall pedestrian experience.
