COMMUNITY FOOD HUB

POSITIONING THE CAMPAIGN AGAINST HUNGER TO COMMUNICATE ITS BOLD VISION FOR THE FUTURE

Since its founding in 1998 to help one struggling, single mother, The Campaign Against Hunger (TCAH) has grown to serve the entire metropolitan region and built a reputation as one of the most trusted anti-hunger nonprofits working vigorously to end hunger and build health in New York City.

In the wake of the global pandemic, food insecurity has only intensified. Since March 2020, TCAH has quadrupled the amount of people it serves and now provides more than 20 million meals annually.

In order to break the systemic and interconnected cycle of hunger and poverty, TCAH developed a bold vision to create a Community Food Hub to expand food access, provide warehouse and storage space for partners across the city, and serve as a community beacon of best-in-class food production, education, and training. TCAH engaged Totem to help facilitate its real estate search, develop a case for support to engage with potential partners, and advise on strategic outreach.

We are proud that our work to help TCAH tell the story of the Community Food Hub and introduce its vision to the broader Brooklyn business community has helped the organization secure $10 million – and growing – toward its capital funding goals.
