After spending more than a year working with transit advocates, policymakers, real estate developers and community members to determine priorities and best practices, Oonee launched its first pilot in Downtown Manhattan at Water-Whitehall Plaza, in partnership with the Alliance for Downtown New York, which was looking to complement transit nodes with cycling infrastructure.

In the six months that Oonee was deployed in Lower Manhattan, more than 150 people signed up to use the service. Surveys of regular users showed great enthusiasm for the pilot, and its success led to Oonee securing other locations at Atlantic Terminal and with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
