DUMBO HEIGHTS
The developer for DUMBO Heights, a 960,000-square-foot mixed-use development home to firms like Etsy and Alexis Bittar, sought to replicate the public space model in its communal areas while actively leasing its retail spaces in 2015. Working with local fabricators, we created a modular line of seating, landscaping, and sidewalk furniture to activate a 15,000-square-foot pedestrian plaza adjacent to the complex.
The roll-out of the design in 2015 garnered considerable attention for the development, including coverage in the Wall Street Journal, and helped the developer attract retail tenants including the neighborhood’s only brewery, Randolph Beer, which leased ground floor space adjacent to the pedestrian plaza.
